An innovator in platinum/palladium photographic processes, Dick Arentz has won acclaim for his landscape photography throughout a 30 year career. After retiring from the medical profession in 1973 and studying large format silver contact printing with Phil Davis at the University of Michigan, Arentz began teaching studio and photographic history at the University of Northern Arizona. He has had several books and monographs of his work published including Four Corners County (U. of Arizona Press, 1986); The Grand Tour (Nazraeli Press, 1998); The British Isles (Nazraeli Press, 2002); and, through an Isaac W. Bernheim Fellowship, An Outline for Platinum and Palladium Printing that formulates specifications to support non-silver photographic processes.
